Obituary

 

Felipe Alejandro Quintanilla, age 88, passed away January 3, 2019.  He was born on October 14, 1930 to Felipe C. Quintanilla and Maria Olivo in Corpus Christi, Texas.  He was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and his class was the last to graduate from Corpus Christi High School.

He was married to his wife of 48 years on June 21, 1953.  Over the years Felipe was employed at Corn Products, Life and Casualty Insurance, Filter Queen, and eventually went to work with the Corpus Christi Independent School District until he retired.  He was a loving father, son, and brother.  Felipe enjoyed his prayer life, and rekindling old friendships with his former classmates.  He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, service in the community, he was a Knight of Columbus, member of ACTS Missions and he was a proud and devout Catholic who believed in the power and the miracle of the Eucharist.  Felipe will also be remembered for his devotion to his family, love of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, dogs, and his Cowboys.

Felipe was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn, his parents Felipe and Maria, his brothers Jose and Fred, and his sisters Santos and Maria.

Felipe is survived by his sons, Roland (Marichu) and Richard (Lori); daughters Roxanne Quintanilla and Margarita Herrero; and his brother, Gilbert Quintanilla; grandchildren Victoria Rhodes (John), Leslie Mosher-Quintanilla (Joshua), Jessica Quintanilla, Roland Quintanilla, II, Fernanda Soto ; Phillip Quintanilla (Sheridan), Ricky Quintanilla (Ashley), Nicole Quintanilla; Karen Spencer (Richard); Xochitl  Atias (Omer), Janie Banda (Reynaldo);  great-grandchildren Matthew, Katie, Danaye, Zachary & Travis.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Quintanilla, Ricky Quintanilla, Richard Spencer, Ronnie Quintanilla, Joshua Mosher-Quintanilla, Juan Curiel.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Enrique Barrera, Chito Saenz, Joe Carabajal, Jr., Gilbert Quintanilla, Jr., Steve Lanphier, Arnold Zuniga, John Paul & Joey Marroquin.

Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday January 6, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1322 Comanche Street, Corpus Christi, Texas, followed by a rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.   A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic
