Frances C. Thompson, age 96, passed away on May 25, 2022. She was born on November 14, 1925 to Marcos and Pauline Diaz-Cabello in Dilley, Texas. Frances was raised in Laredo, Texas and later moved to Corpus Christi where she attended Corpus Christi/Roy Miller High School and graduated from in 1942.
Frances married her husband, Cecil W. Thompson of 49 years on October 31, 1942. She was employed by Lichtenstein’s Department Store for many years and was later employed by International Bank. Frances enjoyed family gatherings, her church, and gathering with her friends. Over the years, Frances belonged to several clubs and committees, she would also help sponsor Candidates for their Baptisms and their First Communion. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Woman’s Club, Friendship Circle, the Sultanas De Baza, and the St. Pius Travelers Club. Frances was very active with Church activities and loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She will always be remembered for her service in the community.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Marcos and Pauline Diaz-Cabello; husband, Cecil W. Thompson; son, Robert A. Thompson and daughter in law, Diane Thompson.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Joseph Lee (Carol Marie) Thompson, Thomas David Thompson, Rose Marie Weaver Thompson, Patricia A. (Billy) Delgado, Carolyn S. (Terry) Orf, Kathryn C. (Keith) Bethel, Angel T. (Roger) Yost, and Jon Michael Thompson. Frances is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren, and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at St. Pius Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park
Having the distinguished honor to serve, as pallbearers are Matthew Delgado, Patrick Delgado, Philip McClellen, Troy Bethel, Douglas Thompson, and Justin Thompson.
