Garrett Wesley Gosnell

Garrett “Skipper” Wesley Gosnell, age 77, passed away on May 15, 2023. He was born on November 11, 1945 to B. & Ida Gosnell. Skipper was born and raised in Austell, Georgia and graduated in 1963. He enlisted in the Navy and served from May of 1963 to September of 1986. He attained the following ranks and awards: LNC, Legalman, and Chief.

Skipper married his wife Lenora Gosnell of 56 years on January 27, 1967. He was a civil servant employee for the United States Navy for over thirteen years. Skipper was a loving husband, father, son, brother, cousin, grandfather, and uncle. He enjoyed family, his military career, and his fur babies. He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, sharp wit, service in the community, and devotion to family.

Skipper is preceded in death by his son Patrick Lee Gosnell, mother Ida Gosnell, father B. Gosnell, sister Nancy Cash, and various other family members. He is survived by his wife Lenora Gosnell, son Leonard Gosnell, grandson Nicholas Lafaivre, his siblings Grace (Wilber) Radford, Andy (Alice) Gosnell and Doug (Missy) Gosnell.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
