Gary A. Lee

Gary A. Lee, age 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday, February 27, 2023. He was born on April 2, 1947 to Beryl R. Lee and Myrtle Lee, in Alice, Texas. Gary was raised in Alice, Texas, graduating from Alice High School in 1965, and attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas, proudly completing his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering when retirement from AEP-Texas offered him the opportunity 40 years later.

Gary was an avid Astros, Longhorns, and Cowboys fan who also loved being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and training his best bird dog Sarge.

Gary was, more importantly, a supportive and loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Many, many years after their first date at the Alice’s Paladium Bowl, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene (Luedecke) Lee. Together, they raised their surviving daughter Rachel (Darren) Patterson.

He is also survived by his two brothers: Wayne (Joyce) Lee of Beeville and Dennis (Debbie) Lee of Orange Grove; as well as grandchildren Daniel (Forrest) Patterson and Kelsey (Max) Patterson-Weir, and great-grandchildren Cooper, Paisley, & Kennedy. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be from 11am to noon on March 2, 2023, with funeral service to follow at noon, both being held at the Seaside Reid Chapel. An Entombment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas
