Gerald Burton Kipp

On Wednesday, May 5, 2021, Gerald (Gerry) Kipp, loving father of two children, grandfather of four, and great-grandfather of one, passed away at the age of 83.

Gerry was born on July 27, 1937 in Moline, Illinois to Conrad Kipp and Ruth Lindbeck. On December 12, 1959, he married Gretchen Gay Gunter. They reared two daughters, Kelly and Jackie. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa in 1962 and his MBA from Central Michigan University in 1980. His lifelong career was in procurement and contract negotiation for the United States Government.

Gerry had a passion for Elvis as well as the ocean, travel, tennis, and dancing. He was known for his quick quit, his infectious smile, and his kind and generous spirit.
Gerry was preceded in death by his father, Conrad Kipp; his mother, Ruth Lindbeck; his brother, Bill Kipp and his wife of 41 years, Gretchen.

He is survived by his two children, Kelly & husband Greg Dykes and Jackie Woodfin, his four grandchildren, Greg Jr., wife Nikki and great grandson Asher Dykes; Bethany & husband Andrew Horner; Rachel & husband Travis Taylor; and Zachary Woodfin & fiancé Remi Frugé.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, located at 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412 with a viewing starting at 12:00 p.m. A brief Graveside prayer will take place after the service.
