Gertrude Ann Vicknair

Gertrude Vicknair, age 78, passed away January 6, 2020. She was born on September 14, 1941 to Oliver and Thelma Sutton in Reserve, Louisiana. She married her husband, John J. Vicknair Jr. of 58 years on September 2, 1961. Gertrude was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will always be remembered for her love and devotion to her family and her joy for the outdoors.

Gertrude is preceded in death by her daughter Rhonda Ann Vicknair, parents Oliver and Thelma Sutton and sister Theresa Ballard.

Gertrude is survived by her husband, John J. Vicknair Jr; her three children, Angela Vicknair, Troy Vicknair and Scott Vicknair; her grandchildren Nicole Keul, Megan Vicknair, Nathan Sears, Regan Vicknair, Payton Vicknair, Gavin Vicknair and Venice Vicknair; her great grandchildren Hadley Keul, Leighton Vicknair, Hazel Keul and Kennedy Kuilan-Vicknair; her 5 sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be held at 9am on Thursday, January 9th and Saint Patrick Catholic Church.

A funeral mass will be held at 10am that same day. Entombment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Troy Vicknair, Scott Vicknair, Nathan Sears, Gavin Vicknair, Ryan Keul and Joel Vera.
