Gladys Smith

Gladys Smith passed away on April 21, 2021 at the age of 95. She joins, in heaven, her parents, Otto and Leechen “Lizzie” Barsch; her husband of 44 years, Roy Smith; her two sisters, Fridel Knetig (with her husband, Edmund) and Melinda Armentrout (with her husband, Charlie); her nephew and godson, Edmund Knetig, Jr.; her son-in-law, Bill Reynolds; and her step-daughter, Lenora Hodges.
She is survived by her two daughters, Marian Claybourn (with her husband, Jerry) and Linda Reynolds; 7 grandchildren, Sherry McNutt (Patrick), Suzanne Martin (Tom), Larry Purcell (Jessie), Stacie Black (John), Brent Bigbee (Cassie), Lynda Moreland (Randy Milner), and Matt Reynolds (Amanda); her step-granddaughter, Margo Moore (Mike); 27 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and her two canine companions, Schotzy and Chiquita.
Gladys was most proud of her family and she loved working with her husband, Roy, in their ranching, farming and real estate ventures. She loved shopping and entertaining, and was well-known for her impeccable style, charm and wittiness, but she also loved the rare chance to walk on the beach and do a little fishing. She is much loved and will be missed by her family and friends on earth.
Visitation with be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm at Seaside Funeral Home, 4357 Ocean Drive in Corpus Christi. A Funeral service will be on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10:00 am at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with an Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
