Obituary

Graciela Ymbert Hernandez, age 86, passed away Nov 2nd, 2020. Graciela was born on May 26, 1934 to Mary Francisca Ymbert in Corpus Christi, TX. Graciela was raised in Corpus Christi where she attended Driscoll Jr. High.

Graciela married Ruben A. Hernandez Sr. on December 22, 1951 at La Santa on Marguerite St. They were married for 35 wonderful years until Ruben’s passing on October 22, 1986. Graciela was a loving mom, grammy and great-grammy.

Graciela will always be remembered for the love she had for her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved waking up to KBNJ with her coffee, scrambled eggs and toast to play word of the day, call in birthdays and prayer requests for over 25 years. She also enjoyed her Whataburger, apple pie, coffee and her Wheel of Fortune. She enjoyed her time with the church family especially her Dorcas Ladies Group at Primera.

Graciela was preceded in death by her loving husband Ruben A Hernandez Sr., her daughter Sylvia Hernandez-Trevino, her brothers and sisters Fernando L. Ymbert from Baltimore, MD, Gilbert Ledesma Ymbert, Carlos L. Ymbert and sister Mary Frances Lopez from Corpus Christi. Left to cherish Graciela’s memories are her children, Dicky (Judy) Hernandez, Gilbert Trevino, Carlos Hernandez, Ruben (Dalia) Hernandez, and Michael (Rosary) Hernandez; grandchildren Kathryn (Billy) Smith, Sarah (Adam) Funk, James (Katrina) Hernandez, Michael (Paloma) Hernandez, Ilissa and Lucas, Richie R. Hernandez, Charles and Sam (Megan), Chelsea, Madeline and Elena, several great-grandchildren and brother Danny (Anna) Ledesma.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on November 7, 2020 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Burial immediately following at Seaside Memorial Park. A livestream of the service will be available at: https://www.oneroomstreaming.com/view/authorise.php?k=160461311384338

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Charles Hernandez, Samuel Hernandez, Michael R. Hernandez.
