Guadalupe Velasquez

Guadalupe H. Velasquez, age 98, passed away September 22, 2018. She was born on February 8, 1920 to Matias Hernandez and Clara Benavidez in Nueces County. She was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. She married her husband, Bonifacio Z. Velasquez, Sr., on January 31, 1949. Guadalupe was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and dancing.
Guadalupe is preceded in death by her husband, Bonifacio Z. Velasquez, Sr., granddaughter, Brenda Claire, grandsons, Abel Flores and Elizar Garcia, son-in-law, Israel Reyes, Sr., and brother, Jose Guevara, Sr.
Guadalupe is survived by her children, daughters: Barbara Claire, Irene Velasquez, Carmen (Enrique) Espinoza, Maria Guadalupe Reyes, Nina Garza, Diana Garcia, sons: Bonifacio (Molly) Velazquez, Jr., and Jose (Adelina) Guevara, grandchildren: Theresa, George, Gerardo and Robert Claire, Sammy Guajardo, Jr., Joey and Annie Jo, Brijido (Victoria) Flores, Jr., Josefina (Jorge) Garcia, Bonifacio III, Corina, Jaime, Jody, Javier, Israel Jr., Ismael, Sammy (Alma), Rebecca (Rufino), Marcela, Clara and Lionel. Guadalupe also leaves to cherish her memory her many great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honors to be pallbearers are George Claire, Anthony Mata, Gerardo Claire, Anthony Andrew Reyes, Robert Claire and Lionel Garcia.
