Obituary
Dr. H. Robert Gerberich, loving husband and father, peacefully passed away on November 29, 2022.
Bob was born May 18, 1933 in Wooster, Ohio. Following his graduation from Wooster College, he went to the University of Rochester (New York) – receiving a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry. While attending the U. of R. he met fellow student “Ronnie” his lifelong love whom he married in 1958.
After completing his Ph.D. he accepted a post- doctoral grant to Carnegie -Mellon Institute in Pittsburgh, PA.
In 1966 Bob accepted a position as a Research Chemist at the Clarkwood Research and Development Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. During his distinguished career at Celanese he received multiple patents and awards.
For many years, Bob played golf: however his passion was Contract Bridge – earning close to 4,000 master points.
He is survived by his wife, Ronnie (Veronica); Son Michael (Jenifer); Daughter Lisa Jones (Richard) and grandchildren Matthew Gerberich and Jillian Dangerfield (Tyler).
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 6th from 12-2pm at Seaside Funeral Home.
