Herbert Godfrey Morrison Jr., age 81, passed away on June 22, 2018. Herbert was born on December 10, 1936 to Marjorie and Herbert Morrison Sr. He graduated high school at the New Mexico Military Institute in 1955, junior college at the New Mexico Military Institute in 1957, and college at the University of Corpus Christi with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1960.
Herbert was president and owner of Coastal Bend Rent-A-Car. He was proud to be a member of the Avis and Budget Licensee families. Herbert enjoyed serving in a variety of roles in numerous organizations such as Ducks Unlimited, Corpus Christi Yacht Club, Incarnate Word Academy, Corpus Christi International Airport Advisory Board, Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau, Our Lady of Corpus Christi, Texas State Aquarium, The King’s Men, and many more.
Herbert will always be remembered first and foremost for his dedication, love, and unwavering devotion to Diana, his wife of 52 years. He was a loving father to his three children and cherished his eight grandchildren.
Herbert was preceded in death by his father, Herbert G. Morrison Sr. and mother, Marjorie C. Morrison.
Herbert is survived by his loving wife: Diana Thomas Morrison, his brother: Ralph Waldo Morrison (Carlotta), his children: Diana Morrison Morgan (Michael), Herbert Godfrey Morrison III (Sarah), and Victoria Morrison Anderson (Brad), and his grandchildren: Dincy, Cole, Quarter, Grace, Lillian, Clay, Rock, and Colton.
A Rosary prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27th at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Corpus Christi. The funeral Mass will be held also at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Thursday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. with internment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
