Herman Bohuslav, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home he built and lived in for 69 years on November 13, 2018. On December 22, 1927, he was born in Moulton, Texas, to Tom and Mary (Migl) Bohuslav, and graduated from Komensky High School, where he was a star basketball player. Herman had eyes only for his bride of 70 years, Rosalie Krejci. Herman was a faithful Catholic and stayed true to his Czech heritage. Dancing was his pleasure, building was his hobby, and playing basketball was his passion. He began his married life as a co-owner of K&B Grocery in Flour Bluff for 8 years and spent the next 35 years working at Knolle/Hygeia. A hard-working man of integrity, he always placed his family first. He left behind his wife and five children: Darrell (Susan) Bohuslav, Jennice (Richard) Holtom, Beverly Bohuslav (David Martin), Lori (Bill) Green, and Bethany (Jim) Rosebrock; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mildred Patek. He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings: Helen Farmer, Ernest Bohuslav, Elsie Darilek and Robert Bohuslav; and three grandchildren, Reagan and John David Rosebrock and Amanda Bohuslav.
A rosary will be prayed on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 7:00 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with family receiving visitors from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5830 Williams Dr., Corpus Christi. Family and friends are welcome to attend burial ceremony Saturday, Nov. 17, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Moulton, TX.
