Hilfa Garcia Sisson 1955 - 2019
Hilfa Sisson, age 64, died peacefully at home on October 29, 2019 after a brief and difficult bout with acute septic shock. Hilfa was colorful, funny and full of life. She was born and raised in Taft, Texas, where she was recognized as an award-winning actress during high school. Hilfa had a rare talent as a vocalist and performed as a professional singer for many years. She even turned down multiple recording contracts because she wanted to sing gospel songs. After attending Bible College in Florida, she embraced what became her lifelong role as a Gospel Singer, and Evangelist. For decades she sang and shared her testimony at churches across Texas. Her insights were often prophetic and many people proclaimed that her love of Christ had a profound impact on their lives. In her personal life, she enjoyed spending time with family and neighbors, along with interior decorating, gardening and rescuing animals. Her creative talents helped many people create a wow factor in their own homes. Hilfa is survived by her husband of 35 years, Scott Sisson of San Antonio, as well as her sisters Hilda, Hilma, Hilsa, Hilna, and Giselda, and her brother Gaspar “Gapper” Garcia jr., all of Corpus Christi, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren in Corpus Christi, and Austin. Her sister Hilva preceded her in death, as did her mother, Estela, and father Gaspar Garcia.
A Memorial Service will be held 10AM, November 9, 2019 at Seaside Reid Chapel.
