Irma Elsa (Ramirez) Guerra

Irma Elsa Ramirez Guerra, age 88, passed away on October 6, 2021. She was born on March 31, 1933 to Zaragosa Ramirez and Ofelia Guerra in Hebbronville, Texas. She was raised in Kingsville, Texas.

Irma married her husband, Santiago Guerra, Jr of 70 years on July 29, 1951. She worked 40 years as a beautician prior to retiring 26 years ago. She then worked as an election judge with the Nueces County during elections.

She was a legacy of love as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was active in her community as a volunteer at the Garden Senior Center for over 20 years. She enjoyed traveling and gambling but mostly spending quality time with her loving family.

Irma is preceded in death by her parents, Zaragosa Ramirez and Ofelia Guerra; her brother, Noe J. Ramirez; her brother, Alarico R. Ramirez and her brother, Rene J. Ramirez.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Santiago Guerra, Jr.; sons, Johnny (Liz) Guerra, Santiago “Jimmy III” (Nena) Guerra, Richard (Yvonne) Guerra and Raymond (Jessica) Guerra; daughter, Laura (Thomas) Scriminger; sister, Belinda Ramirez Mendez; sister-in-law, Evelyn Ramirez; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Richard Gilley, Jimmy Guerra IV, Justin Applewhite, Raymond Guerra, Jr., Jake Castaneda and Ethan Martinez.
