Obituary
Irma Marta Garcia Kirby, 82, a longtime resident of Corpus Christi, Texas, gained her angel wings on August 31, 2021.
Born June 18, 1939 in San Diego, Texas to Horacio Garcia and Aurora Garcia, Irma was a loving mother and grandmother, and an enthusiastic entrepreneur. While raising her 5 children, Irma worked as a teacher’s aide at several CCISD schools. Irma thrived on interaction with her Tupperware, Avon, and costume jewelry customers, and in her downtime enjoyed crafting, sewing, and floral arranging. In later years, Irma’s joy was laughing and spending time with family members, reading her daily prayers, and communing with her caregivers, who were very loving with her.
Irma is preceded in death by her husband Artie Lee Kirby, granddaughter Amy Hook, parents, Horacio and Aurora Garcia, brothers, Ramiro Garcia, Richard Garcia, Rogelio Garcia, and sister Olga Villarreal.
Irma will be deeply missed by her children, Debra Hook (Mark), Shirley VanWinkle (Brad), Linda Brandt, Richard Brandt (Kim) and L. Robert Brandt, Jr. (Patricia); sisters, Grace Garcia and Rosa Garcia (Freddie); two brothers, Rene Garcia (Yolanda) and Roel Garcia; 8 grandchildren, Leeann, Sean, Justin, Jacob “Jake”, Bradley, Amanda, Jared, and Ian; 7 great-grandchildren, Emma, Hayden, Everett, Hank, Hazel, James, and Easton, and numerous nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Justin Brandt, Jake Brandt, Jared Brandt, Bradley VanWinkle, Sean Hook and Mark Hook.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. that same morning. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
