Jack B. Rohde, age 85, passed from this life into eternal life on February 23, 2021. He was born on September 22, 1935 to Grace and August Rohde in the small town of Wall Lake, Iowa and was raised here in Corpus Christi. Graduating from Sundeen High School in 1954, Jack was the ace of the pitching staff and is remembered as having lost only one game.
Jack married his wife, Judy, of 29 years in November of 1991. For 62 years, Jack worked at Del Mar Distributing Co., rising through the ranks from warehouse employee to Vice President. It is said that he was hired on the spot by Bill Miller, Sr. despite not knowing what the company actually sold. He was a loving father, son, husband and friend to all he knew. Whether he’d met you once or knew you for life, he’d strike up a conversation all the same. He was always a gentleman.
Jack enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was the ultimate entertainer and party giver. He could go from the sea to the dinner club with ease - always with his hair perfectly coiffed. Jack will always be remembered as a loyal friend, with a generous spirit and an unwavering devotion to his church.
Jack was welcomed into the hereafter by his mother, father and many friends of old; hopefully one of them has a glass of wine for him, preferably a Hahn merlot.
Left to remember and celebrate him are his wife, Judy; children, Denise, Cristy (Gary), David (Robin); grandchildren, Cassidy, Austin and Kylie (Carlos); stepchildren, Dean (Kristi), and Scott (Stephanie); step grandchildren, Madison, Pearson, William and Jonathan; and step great-grandchild, Hudson.
