James Haynes, age 91, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021, in his home. Jimmy, as he was known by, was born March 15, 1930, to the late Ruby Mae Carter and Sidney R. Haynes, Sr. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1948.
He was a member of numerous organizations such as; the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (I.B.E.W.) 278 Local for 70 years, City Church in Corpus Christi, TX, Grand Lodge of TX A.F. & A.M. Loma Alto No. 544 in Tiden, TX, Grand Lodge of TX A.F. & A.M. Oso Naval No. 1282 in Corpus Christi, TX 78404, as well as being a Master Mason.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Haynes; three sisters, Vivian Jean McGee, Billie Fairbraine and Ruby Crowley; as well as numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
He is survived by his sons, James C. Haynes, Jr. (Elvira F. Haynes) of Corpus Christi, TX and David N. Haynes (Ann Haynes) of Lufkin, TX; grandchildren, Joseph Andrew Haynes and James S. Haynes (Veronica Velasquez) of Dallas TX; Jennifer M. Stewart (Jonathon Stewart) of Waldorf, MD; great-grandchildren, Elijah D. Zimmerman and Hunter F. Stewart of Waldorf, MD; brother, Sidney R. Haynes, Jr.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with Interment to follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
