James Donald Lawson

James Donald Lawson, age 70, passed away February 6, 2019. He was born on January 26, 1949 to James Lester and Mary Virginia Lawson in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was raised in Selma, Alabama. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 15 and ½ years in Indochina, Vietnam and Korea. He received the National Defense Service Medal and Air Force Good Conduct Medal. James married his wife of thirty six years, Rachel Welch Lawson, on January 6th. He is survived by his wife Rachel Welch Lawson, daughter Sandra Lawson Birdsell of Houston, TX, son Thomas Lawson of Houston, TX, and four grandchildren Chandler Daniel, Jacob Birdsell, Jaida Lawson and Xavier Lawson.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 15, 2019 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
