Obituary

James Dale Silhavy, age 56, passed away Tuesday February 4, 2020. He was born on August 24, 1963 to Emil Frank Silhavy and Grace Florine Schuelke in Richmond, Tx. He was raised in Needville, Tx where he graduated from Needville High School in 1982.

He served in the United States Navy from 1982-2001. He served as a Petty Officer First Class as an Emergency Vehicle Operator, within his time he had many accomplishments; The Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, Meritorious Commendation Unit Medal, three Battle Efficiency Ribbons (Navy ā€œEā€), five Good Conduct Medals, two National Defense Service Medals, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.

He married his wife, Elisa Silhavy, of 31 years on August 25, 1988.

James was employed by Stream Flo. James was a loving father and son. He will always be remembered for his outgoing personality, as well as his devotion to family, his job, and his country.

James is preceded in death by; his father, Emil Silhavy; his step father, Harry Loesch; his mother, Grace Loesch; his brothers, Wayne Earl Silhavy, and Robert Silhavy and his brother-In-Law Larry Kramer.
James Dale Silhavy is survived by his wife, Elisa Silhavy; his son, Wayne Silhavy; his daughters, Jennifer Silhavy and Jessica Silhavy; his sisters, Mary Kramer, Margret Rose and husband Barney Rose, Glenda Loesch and husband Marvin Loesch, Terry Silhavy; his brother, Emil Silhavy Jr.; his step brother, Erwin Loesch; his step sister, Janice Marts and his sister-In-Law Vernice Silhavy.

Visitation will be held from 10 am to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. that same morning. Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.

Having the distinguished honors of serving as Pallbearers are: Wayne Silhavy, Jessica Silhavy, Arron Adamek, Anthony Mendoza, Joey Cadena and Thomas Hoelewyn.
