James F. Baldwin

James F. Baldwin, age 88, passed away on June 1, 2023.  He was born on September 6th, 1934 to Hershal & Mary Lee Baldwin in Corpus Christi, TX. He was raised in Corpus Christi, TX and graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1953.

Jim married his wife of 58 years, Edna Farmer, on June 26, 1964. He owned Baldwin Roofing and B&N Roofing. Jim was a loving son, father to his son and daughter, Richard Allen Baldwin and Desta Gay Baldwin, and brother to his sister Lila House.

Jim enjoyed auto racing, poker and restoring classic cars from the 50’s & 60’s. He will always be remembered for his generosity and sense of humor.

Jim is preceded in death by his father and mother, and son Richard.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Edna, daughter Desta Gay Baldwin and granddaughters, Jennifer (Joe) Casanova and Tiffany (Ryan) Gillenwater. Also great-granddaughters, Avery, Kendall, Taylor, and Alison; sister Lila House; nephews David (Tina) House and Preston (Margie) House and many other family members.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 to 6:30pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 6:30pm that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Thursday, June 8th, 2023 at St Pius X Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are David House, Preston House, Lupe Garza, Butch Boggess, Joe Casanova and Ryan Gillenwater.
