Jeffery Wayne Strickland

Jeffery Wayne Strickland passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022. He was born October 24, 1950 in Victoria, TX to Wayne and Betty Strickland. He graduated from HM King high school where he acquired his lifelong nickname Turkey. He later met and married his wife, Karen, in 1975. Their 46-year marriage included raising their two children, Nannette & Justin. Jeff was a loving husband, father, son, brother and uncle.

Jeff’s professional life was spent in refineries and maintenance until he retired from Citgo in 2010. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors. He loved to manage projects and tell stories. He also volunteered a lot of time to St. Paul United Church of Christ, to SEA (Saltwater- fisheries Enhancement Association), and to helping his neighbors and friends.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, EW and Betty (Jeffers) Strickland, and son, Justin Strickland. Jeff is survived by his wife Karen Strickland, daughter Nannette Strickland of Austin, sister Carol Williamson of San Angelo, along with members of their extended family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Home, 4357 Ocean Dr, Corpus Christi. The Memorial Service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Seaside as well. We will continue to celebrate his life with a reception at Moravian Hall after the service.

Memorial contributions in Jeff’s honor can be made to the Coastal Bend Food Bank or St. Paul UCC.
