Obituary

Jimmy Raye “Will” Williams, 52, passed away on Tuesday, 15 September 2020.

Jimmy was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 6, 1968 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital to Mr. Jimmy Ronald Williams and Mrs. Mary Lee Williams. He graduated from Father Flanagan High.

MN1 Williams, Jimmy enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June of 1988 and was retired in July 2004 and U.S. Army March 1999 - January 2000. Will graduated from Basic Military Training on 11-Jun-1988, Signalman, Gunners Mate Class a Phase II Grad: 10-Sep-1990, Gun Mount 5/54 Mk 45 Mod 1 Operation and Maintenance Grad: 15-Feb-1991, Instructor Cert Course (Group Instructor) Grad: 02-Dec-1994, Mineman Class A Grad: 01-Sep-2000, Second Class Petty Officer Leadership Course Grad: 29-Jun-2001 and Master Training Specialist. He received the following decorations: National Defense Service Medal (2), Good Conduct Medal (3), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy Expert Pistol Shot Medal, Navy Expert Rifleman Medal, and Southwest Asia Service Medal 

Jimmy was married to his wife Esmeralda Williams 20 years on September 28, 2020. He had 4 children, Errond Parris Williams, Elyjah Jaye Williams, Kiana Chantel Williams, and Naomi Bernadette Williams-Denison.  

After his retirement from the Navy Jimmy chose to stay active. He played a key part in coaching his Son Errond to Dual State Championship wins in both the 50 and 100 freestyle in 2008. He followed up with his Son Elyjah by taking a pivotal role of mentorship for the Flour Bluff JROTC/ROTC Armed Drill Exhibition and Regulation Team of which they went on to win Grand National Championships from 2009-2011. Never one to pump the breaks, Jimmy went on to coach his youngest daughter Naomi to 5 state championships in Kenpo karate from 2010-2015, National Championship in Taekwondo in 2015. He also assisted Naomi in winning Bronze and Silver in Gymnastics in 2015. Pushing even further Jimmy would go on to earn his 4th degree black belt in Kenpo karate and be inducted into the Black Karate Federation Hall of fame in 2017. He was a Mentor to many whom crossed his path and were willing to listen. Including TAMUCC fencing students whom followed his advice and are prospering in their carriers.

He is preceded in death by his Father Jimmy Ronald Williams and Father-in-Law Jose Luis Silvas. He leaves behind to cherish his Memory: his Wife, Esmeralda Williams; his Mother, Mary Lee Williams; Mother-in-Law Gloria Silvas, his Sons, Errond Parris Williams, Elyjah Jaye Williams; his Daughters, Kiana Chantel Williams, Naomi Bernadette Williams-Denison; Grandson: Azrael Zayn Williams; Daughter-in-law, Haley Renee Williams; Son-in-Law Kody M. Denison, Kiana’s Finance Jacobi S. Patterson Jr.; Brothers, Dolomite D. C. Williams, Gregory Williams Sr. (Pam), Christopher Williams, Brian James Williams; Sisters, Wanda Devine (Andrew), Jamie McMahon (Kane), Kortney Marie Williams, Kelly Marie Williams, and other loving Family and Friends.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm. on Monday, September 28, 2020 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. Officiating services will be LT, CHC, USN James Lewis.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are: Errond Parris Williams, Elyjah Jaye Williams, Jacobi Shamel Patterson Jr, Gonzalo Echavarria Jr, Pedro Estevan Echavarria, Lorenzo Ignacio Silvas.
