Welcome to the memorial page for

Jo Ellen Teichman

September 14, 1954 ~ July 19, 2017 (age 62) 62 Years Old
Jo Ellen Teichman, age 62, passed away in a state of peace and contentment on July 19, 2017. Jo was an intelligent woman with great wit and appeal. She had a way that brightened the days of those that knew her with a quirky story, silly saying or simply by the beam of her genuine smile. She found humor in life and would laugh (sometimes uncontrollably) at the simplest things. She encompassed all things good and embraced life at its fullest.
Jo lived two full lives. She was born on September 14, 1954 to Eddie Lee and Geraldine Snead in Victoria, Texas. She was raised in Corpus Christi and graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1972. A few years after graduation, she fulfilled her dream and became a mother to the first of two daughters. She was her girls’ first love, strongest supporter, confidant and hero. She was active at their schools and made sure she was present at every activity they were involved with at the time. Jo was always cheering for her girls, which was something she continued throughout their lives.
As her girls got older, she started to prepare and focus on the next chapter of her life. When her oldest daughter got accepted to UT Austin, Jo decided to go back to school and pursue her passion for nursing. In 1997, she started working for Corpus Christi Medical Center (CCMC) where she remained employed for 20 years. She began as a volunteer in the HR office, then as a CNA, RN, Wound Nurse and eventually became the Director of Quality. Jo was a natural leader and mentor. She enjoyed teaching clinical and nursing classes at TAMU-CC for several years. She also valued and continued her education by specializing in Wounds, Ostomy and Continence, obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing and working towards her PhD.
In her free time, Jo enjoyed traveling to new places, relaxing at the beach, crocheting blankets for her loved ones, finishing DIY projects around her home and reading. No matter what she was doing, she cherished the moment and always made time for her friends and family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Erica (Clifton) Clemons of San Antonio, and Reana Teichman of Corpus Christi; sister Carol Daniel of Corpus Christi, brother David (Linda) Snead of Pearland; two granddaughters, Elise and Clara Clemons of San Antonio; two nieces, one nephew and numerous friends and colleagues. She also leaves behind her crazy beagle, Molly and her beloved grand pets, Marni, Kiki and Paco.
Jo was a beautiful person, a one of a kind. She was a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, friend, mentor, teacher, colleague, and a nurse. She was a blessing to many and will be missed by all.
Jo’s memorial and celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 29th, 3 pm at Seaside Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, TX.
