Betty JoAn Brinson, 88, went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2020. She was born on March 5, 1932 in Brownwood, Texas to Richard Dick and Evelyn Inez Towery. She graduated from Daniel Baker College with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She was a dedicated educator for thirty years.
JoAn was a devoted wife to her husband of sixty years, Clarence Keith Brinson, and a loving, supportive mother and grandmother. She loved being with her family and was a talented artist who enjoyed painting and sculpting, working in her beautiful flowerbeds, as well as vacationing and traveling the world with her husband and friends. She is remembered by her grandchildren for sharing the love of art through her “art camps,” story times on her lap, long walks through the neighborhood, feeding the ducks at the park, delicious homemade cookies, and her fun laugh.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clarence Keith Brinson, son-in-law, David Gene Patterson, grandson, Joseph Quinn Patterson, sister, Dorothy Merle Anthony, and brother, Don Ray Towery, and other loved relatives and friends.
Left to cherish her memories are her three children, Mike Brinson and wife Kim, Jo Evelyn Patterson, and Shirley Downey and husband Charlie; nine grandchildren, Max Brinson, Hannah Skelton and husband Chase, Rowdy Patterson and wife Katie, Boone Patterson and wife Ashley, Hunter Patterson and wife Gabrielle, Ryder Patterson and wife Andrea, Lillie JoAn Patterson, Chas Downey and wife Danielle, and CJ Downey; great grandchildren Zayne and Brinson Patterson, and beloved extended family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
