John A Boren

John Alfred Boren, age 92, passed away January 23, 2021. He was born on October 31, 1928 to Hiram Newton and Ella Mae Boren in Kim, CO. He was raised in McCook, TX, and attended Edinburg High School in Edinburg, TX. He served in the U.S. Army, Private First Class from 1950 to 1952. He married his wife Joyce Boren of 64 ½ years on June 24, 1956.

He worked for Great Southern Refining, Reynolds Aluminum and spent 26 ½ years with the Corpus Christi Fire Department.

John was a loving husband and devoted father. John had many hobbies that he enjoyed in his spare time, which included gardening, bee keeping, fishing, woodworking and growing greenhouse tomatoes. John was known for his delicious barbeque and dinner rolls. He was a faithful servant of his church and served on multiple church boards, church building and property maintenance.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Ella Mae Boren; his brothers, Newton Boren, Albert Boren and Merle Boren; and his sisters, Lena Hensley, Bertha Myers, Edna Wyant and Mary Hipscher.

John is survived by his wife, Joyce Boren, his son, Ronald Boren, his daughter Ronda Boren, his sister Pearl Boren and several nieces and nephews. Special friends, Craig and Tammy Wall and their two daughters, Brylee & Brooklyn Wall. A very special thanks to Dr. Bill Dennis and Tammy Wall PA-C for their wonderful and devoted care. Thanks to Del Cielo Hospice and Nurses, Nora, Mary, Macy, Jennifer and Chaplain Tomas.

A Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on January 28, 2021 at the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, with a Funeral Service to be celebrated at 12 noon, that same day, followed by interment at 1:00 pm at Seaside Memorial Park.
