John Wesley "Buddy" Cade

December 6, 1936 ~ March 24, 2024 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Obituary

John Wesley “Buddy” Cade, age 87, passed away on March 24, 2024. He was born on December 6, 1936 to John Burl Cade and Ruby Kennedy Cade in Donna, Texas.

Buddy was well known in the industrial electrical industry at both Nunn Electric and Corpus Christi Electric Supply. He was an avid golfer with the unique distinction of having five “Hole in Ones” in his life. He will always be known by his sense of humor, generosity to others, and his keen mind.

Buddy’s greatest love was his family. He spent countless hours following his five children to every sporting event imaginable: across the country, in the heat or cold, day or night. He was often the first person in the stands at any Orange Grove or Gregory-Portland event. He was extremely proud of his children and their families. He was generous and loving to all.

Our lives will forever be a little less bright without his humor and love. While mourning his passing we will have many opportunities to share his stories, silly Dad jokes, and hear Uncle Buddy stories that will make us smile.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Carol Jeffrey, sisters Patsy Scott, Bobby Smith, and Sue Coulter, and his great niece Camilla Charley.

Left to mourn his death is his wife, Barbara Cade, daughter Ruby Lee (David) Henderson, sons John “Skeeter” Cade of Corpus Christi, Jason (Rochelle) Cade of College Station, Tim (Staci) Cade of Corpus Christi, mother-in-Law Nadine Haveman, and son in Law Martin Jeffrey. As well as his grandchildren; Wes Gale and Martin Gale, Laken (Javie Moncada), Taylor Stanford, Brittany (Ken Jones) Cade, Lauren Porter, Madison Cade, Mikenzie Cade, Rayleigh Cade, Marlie Henderson. Great Grandchildren; Martin Gale, Timmy Gale, Raiden Stanford, Cole Porter, Juda Stanford, Bryce Porter, Coraline Jones. Numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and outlaws.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Neal Levene, David Henderson, Taylor Stanford, Kenny Jones, Javier Moncada, and Ryan Levene. Honorary pallbearer Robert "Griff" Griffith.

Officiating is his nephew, Johnny McCain.

Special thanks to Choice Hospice nursing team Shelly, Francine, Norma, and Charlotte.  Also thank you to Debbie San Gabriel who made our lives easier these last few months.
