John Edward Dougherty, (Johnny) of Corpus Christi Texas died in his home Monday October 10, 2017 at 85 years of age after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Susan. His surviving children are Kathi Eckel, Joe Dougherty, John Dougherty, Peggy LeBeau, Teresa Jackson and grandchildren; Joshua, Matthew, and Tara Eckel, Selena Dougherty, JD, Caleb, and Bethany LeBeau, and Christopher and Luke Jackson, and great grandchild, Stella Eckel.
Johnny was born September 13, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Katy and John Dougherty and spent his childhood in Texas where he met his wife Susan. The two were married on August 4, 1962
Visitation and Rosary for Johnny will be held 6-9pm on Thursday October 12th at Seaside Memorial Park on Ocean Drive. Funeral Mass will be said by Father Paul Hess at St. Pius X Church at 10am with internment following at Seaside Memorial Park, both in Corpus Christi, TX. Johnny was involved in many aspects of the pipeline industry, and outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Those who knew him would tell you that he was a mix of Clint Eastwood and Paul Newman.
