John W. Whitley

John W. Whitley, 92, entered eternal rest on April 30, 2018 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was born on May 20, 1925 to Benjamin Whitley and Kate Duffy Whitley in Perryville, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Benjamin Franklin Whitley and his wife, Margaret Whitley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, E. Jo Whitley; son, Johnny (Kay) Whitley; daughter, Linda (Jasem) Al-Ammar; brother, Max (Jackie) Whitley; grandchildren, Wesley Whitley, Brandi (Charlie) Kutil, Talal (Hanan) Al-Ammar, Layla Al-Ammar; 6 – great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
John proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1944-1966 until retirement, and was actively involved with the Shriners and was past master for the Masonic Lodge 189, Chamberlin Lodge of Kingsville, and Robstown Masonic Lodge.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
