John E. Zmecek Jr.

John E. Zmecek, Jr., age 88, passed away January 24, 2023 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on November 25, 1934 to John and Margaret Zmecek in Cleveland, Ohio. He was raised in Painesville, Ohio. He attended Riverside High School in Painesville. He served stateside in the Army from 1957 to 1959. John was employed by the Ohio Rubber Company. 

John enjoyed daily workouts at the YMCA and then breakfast at his favorite diner, Kleifeld’s in Willoughby, Ohio.

John is preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Zmecek and his sister Marge Bair.

John is survived by nieces, Lisa (Bill) Johnson of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Debbi (Tim) Harrington of Chardon, Ohio. He is also survived by his best friends: Sandy Jenkins, Cheryl Paterson and Lin Lipovec.

Inurnment at Costal Bend State Veterans Cemetery With Military honors on February 6, 2023 at 2:00pm.
