Jonnie M Keith

On December 20th, 1925 in Dallas, Texas Reginald and Ivy Jones had a daughter whom they named Jonnie Mae. The family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas where she grew up with her two brothers Bobby and Maurice and one sister Linda. She attended Menger Elementary, Wynn Seal Junior High and graduated from Corpus Christi High School.

In 1948 Jonnie married, Alvin Keith, while he was attending Texas A&I University. While Alvin completed his degree, Jonnie kept busy working in the veterinarian’s office on the King Ranch. Jonnie spent the next 70 years, following Alvin around the United States in pursuit of his career. She lived in many states including Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Maryland, New Mexico, Florida, Arizona and ended up back in Texas. During those years Jonnie had many jobs such as secretary for the Army at Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. She worked as an advertising scheduler for WBAP radio in Fort Worth. She also worked in retail jewelry at Hardwoods and Joske’s department stores in Corpus Christi for many years.

Jonnie’s most important job was raising her two children Jon and Sue. She was a dedicated and proud mom. Jonnie made sure her children grew up with everything they needed, especially love. When the grandchildren arrived she was active in their lives and loved to spoil Charles, Brandon, Roy and Rachel. Jonnie was especially proud of her great-grandson, Wyatt.

Jonnie passed away on November 13th, 2020 at the age of 94. She leaves behind her son Jon and his wife Glenda; daughter Sue Morris and husband Charlie; grandchildren Roy Keith, Rachel Holdsworth and her husband Kevin, Charles and Brandon; great-grandson Wyatt; sister Linda Bevell and her husband Terry; brother-in-law Jame Keith.
We know Jonnie is now with Jesus and has been reunited with her husband Alvin who passed away in 2018. She is at peace and will have no more worries of this world. We will miss her.

A Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 Seaside Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Seaside Memorial Park that same day.
