Joseph Louis Farah, Jr. age 79, passed away January 20, 2023. He was born March 19, 1943 to Joseph L, Farah, Sr. and Mary T. Karam in Tacoma, Washington. He was raised in North Hollywood, California. Joseph graduated from Notre Dame High School in Los Angeles California, in 1961. He studied Oceanography and History at California State University at Northridge, and worked for the Scripps Institute before becoming a commercial oilfield diver in Louisiana. He was a renowned diver and supervisor for 23 years before retiring to open his own business, Farah’s Waterhole. Farah’s celebrated its 30 year anniversary in 2022. Joseph served briefly in the Army National Guard until he was granted an honorable discharge to run the family business after his father’s heart attack. Joe married his wife Toni G. Duval of 53 years on December 27, 1969. He was self-employed/owner of Farah’s Waterhole. Joe was a loving father, son and brother. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and deep sea diving. He will always be remembered for his sense of adventure, devotion to his family and generosity.
Joe is preceded in death by his father and mother, Joe and Mary Farah, nephew Robert Gremillion, and sister-in-law Stephanie Gremillion. Left to cherish his memories are his wife Toni Duval Farah, 2 sons, Joseph L. Farah III and Michael C. Farah (Analisa), 7 Grandchildren; Nicolete, Michael, Joey, Christopher, Coryne, Paige and Matthew Farah. 3 brothers; Michael, Bill (Gemma) and Louis (Claudie) Farah. 3 brothers-in-law Leonard (Roz), David (Theresa) Duval, and Don Gremillion, and many nieces and nephews. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Joseph Farah III, Michael C. Farah, Michael J. Farah, Joseph Farah IV, Christopher Farah and Matthew Farah.
A private Funeral service will be held at Seaside Memorial Park.
