Joseph C. Hirsch, age 25, passed away on August 3, 2022. He was born on August 25, 1996 to Christian and Antonia Hirsch in New York City. He was raised in Glen Head, NY. He graduated from St Mary’s HS in Manhasset, NY and Adelphi University in Garden City, NY in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the Gordon F. Derner School of Psychology. Joseph had several managerial jobs in the past and was actively being recruited by Intuitive Medical. Joseph was also an ardent entomologist with a special interest in Mantids. He bred and raised many rare species of Mantids, providing them to zoos and Universities as well as other entomologists. Joseph was also a baseball savant, he was starting his own podcast with the help of his sister, Marlena.
Joseph was a loving son and brother who always saw the better side of people. He enjoyed baseball, in particular the New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals. He loved his two dogs, Smokey and Markiza. He looked forward to walking them each evening with his Dad where he would discuss his plans for the following day, that day’s baseball, and various events in his personal and family life. He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, sense of adventure and above all devotion to family. Joseph cared.
Joseph is preceded in death by his grandfather Joe E. Hirsch, Grandmother Elizabeth S. DuMoulin Hirsch and his Grandfather Victor Auber.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother and father, Christian and Antonia. His grandmother, Mary Auber, and many extended family and friends. He will be especially missed by his sister, Marlena Hirsch, they did everything together and planned their futures together.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM at St. Andrews By The Sea Catholic Church on Friday, August 12, 2022. The Rosary will follow at 10:30 AM at the church. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrews By The Sea Catholic Church at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Christian Hirsch, Marlena Hirsch, Douglas Hirsch, Geoff Hirsch, Karl Hirsch and Lawrence Auber.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in Joseph’s name.
