Juan Cantu, Jr, age 86, passed away September 17, 2023. He was born on October 16, 1936 to Juan and Consuelo Cantu. He was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Juan married his wife Aurora of 44 years on August 24, 1963. He was employed by Beecroft Co. Juan was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. Juan enjoyed the outdoors, especially when fishing. He enjoyed western movies and TV shows, and country music. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor, his hard-working nature and his willingness to help his family especially in times of distress. He was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and he dedicated his life to Jehovah God on January 20, 1952. He was a member of the Greenwood Congregation in Corpus Christi.
Juan is preceded in death by his wife Aurora Cantu, and his parents Juan and Consuelo Cantu, his brother Joe Cantu and his sister Maria Reyes. He is survived by his daughters Irene Lowe, Irma (Victor) Lehman, and Nora (Bobby) Buentello, and his son Juan (Tina) Cantu III. Survivors also include his brothers Carlos (Patricia), Gilbert (Ruth), Robert (Irma), Rudy (Beatrice), and David Galan Cantu. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A visitation will begin at 4:00pm on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with The Talk to follow at 6:00pm that same evening (The Talk will be Live Streamed, please see the link below). A funeral service will be held at 1:30pm on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
