Obituary

Juanita ‘Kit’ Kindel passed away peacefully on January 4, 2022.
She was 95. Kit was born August 12, 1926 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Carl and Eleanor Pratt. She spent her childhood in Tulsa with her grandparents, Uncle Edgar and brothers, Carl and Donald. As an adult she attended Oklahoma State University (OSU). 

In the mid-1950s, she met Jeff E. Dixon on a blind date and shortly thereafter married. They later moved to Corpus Christi, Texas and she retired from CPL now AEP. Many happy times were had with friends at their condo on Padre Island. Kit was a dog lover and was devoted to the many beagles she had over the years. Volunteer work at Corpus Christi Medical Center - Bay Area was fulfilling. Her garden gave her much joy, especially the crape myrtle trees with their beautiful blooms. 

The second chapter of Kit’s Life began when she married Lawrence ‘Bud’ Kindel in 1999 who proceeded her in death.  She was welcomed into his extensive family.

Kit is survived by nieces and nephews, Jenni Peterson, Shannon Catalda, Peter Pratt, Amy Aasland, Lynn Pratt Cheney, Carolyn Dixon-Lewis and Jeff S. Dixon as well as numerous grand nieces and nephews.  

A graveside ceremony will be held at Seaside Memorial Cemetery, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 2:30 pm.
