Judy B. Gilbreath

September 26, 1947 ~ August 17, 2019 (age 71) 71 Years Old

Obituary

On Saturday, August 17, 2019, Judy Carol Gilbreath was welcomed into God’s loving embrace and entered into eternal rest after a brief illness.  Judy was born in Alice, Texas on September 26, 1947 to Jim and Helen Beams.  She is preceded in death by her father and sister Shirley Keenan.

Judy was a compassionate, caring lady who had a great love for helping others, in particular those less fortunate or in need.  She had a special love for the homeless and was always looking for ways to help them become independent and find fulfillment.  Judy was employed at the John G. and Marie Stella Kenedy Memorial Foundation for the past 29 years where she was instrumental in carrying out the Foundation’s mission. Her kind and humble demeanor was ever present in her willingness to help any person who called and required help with a grant application, a report, a fundraiser, an emergency, or just needed to hear a kind word.  Judy was known to many as the “heart of the Kenedy Foundation”, a place she truly loved because she was able to help so many. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and all the people she touched throughout Texas in her position as Chief Grants Officer.

Left to cherish her memories are her mother, brothers, Scott Beams, and John Beams, daughter, Tiffany (Bill) Evans, granddaughter, McKenna Evans, grandson Aaron Evans, great grandsons Hunter and Tyler Evans, several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bishop Michael Mulvey will celebrate a Memorial Mass on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 9:00 am at the Corpus Christi Cathedral.
