On Sunday, January 3, 2021, Julianna Marie Scott passed away at the age of 67. Julie was born March 12, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois. Her family moved to Flour Bluff in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she spent the majority of her life. She was the middle child of Henry and Reba Pohl’s five children. She married Samuel Scott on October 10, 1966. He was active duty in the Navy so they spent the next 11 years moving around the US and Japan. When he retired, they returned to Corpus Christi with their three children, Robert, Donna and Robin. Julie was active in her church and raised her children in a Christian home. Julie was widowed in April of 1982, after 16 years of marriage. She was fortunate to find love again with Dan Kurka in 1991. They spent the next 20 years loving each other until Dan passed away in April of 2011.
Julie was an amazing cook and baker who loved to share her goodies with those she cared about. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and making jewelry. Most of all Julie loved spoiling her grandchildren, Christopher and Sammy. As long as her health allowed, she was at every school function, athletic event and Scout activity. They were her pride and joy and anyone who knew her, knew of them.
