Dear family of Lamar,
In the early 1950's, Lamar frequently visited our home in Laredo, as she was a dear friend of my sister Mary Ann. In April 1954, Lamar and Maria Hidalia Mendiola (later Cerda), were passengers in a car owned by Maria Hidalia's mom, which my sister Mary Ann was driving. It was a strange accident that took my sister's life. Of course I mourned my sister's death, but praise the Lord that Lamar and Maria Hidalia survived, married, and had happy lives. Now, Lamar has joined her friends in eternal life. I mention this to let you know of a bond I felt with Lamar as my sister's friend. I offer my sympathies in your loss, and please know that I share in your sadness. My memories of Lamar are of a beautiful person -- beautiful in every which way. May Lamar's soul and the souls of all our faithful departed rest in peace, and may perpetual light shine upon them. God bless you and give you strength to carry on Lamar's legacy.

Keep your Mother in your soul, your heart and take her smile with you.

When I heard Lamar had passed away, I felt very sad. Lamar was sweet and kind and compassionate. I felt I could talk to her about anything. I will miss her. My condolences to her family
