Obituary

Larry Fehrenbacher, age 73, passed away November 26, 2018, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on August 17, 1945 to Howard and Margaret Elaine Fehrenbacher, in St. John, Kansas.
   He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Fehrenbacher and sister, Rosemary Fehrenbacher. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Schryl; son, Kevin (Sarah) and their children, Brett, Dala and Riley; daughter, Dena (Roger) Lomas and their children, Maisie and Dathan. His mother, Margaret Elaine Fehrenbacher, Larned, KS; brother, Lonnie Fehrenbacher, Larned, KS; sister, Marita (Randy) Fisher, Wichita, KS; two brothers-in-law, Dana (Janice) Lewis, Merriam, KS, Doug (Beverly) Westeman, Syracuse, KS and sister-in-law, Nora (Dennis+) Lewis, Chouteau, OK; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many special friends.
   He lived in St. John, Liberal and Syracuse, Kansas, where he graduated from Syracuse High School in June 1963. He enlisted and served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1966 aboard the Troup Transport ship USS Montrose APA 212. This was during the Viet Nam War, he was a boat coxswain of Papa boat #14, and the coxswain of the Captain’s Gig. His navy times and buddies meant the world to him. He was proud to have served his country.
   He worked in Law Enforcement over a span of 30 years, including the Kingsville Police Department, King Ranch Security and TDCJ Beeville, until he retired in 2005.
   He was a loving son, grandson, brother, boyfriend, friend, husband, father, father-in-law, Papa and last but not least a friend to many. The highlight of his life was his children and grandchildren. He was a man of his word and fair to all and never held a grudge. Family and friends will remember Larry for his great sense of humor and adventure, ability to tell some great stories and always his devotion to family and friends.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
Larry’s wish was to be cremated and have a military burial at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
