Leah A. Gray Fitzpatrick traveled peacefully to her heavenly home, January 14, 2019. She was born on September 25, 1921, the youngest child of Doyen Logan Appleman and Evelyn Fredella Fitchett, in South Fork, Fulton County, Arkansas. In her early years, she moved with her family from Arkansas to Oklahoma, and ending up in Aransas Pass, Texas before she was a teen. On July 10, 1937, she married Robert Samuel “Bob” Gray. Leah was a homemaker, seamstress, mechanics helper, plumber, small engine mechanic, and boat builder as she was Bob’s right hand woman in all his projects at home. She enjoyed it so well that she passed some of the lessons down to her children. He would help her out of the car and dance her around it. After his passing, she joined the Arthur Murray Dance Studio where she continued dancing, and entered several amateur dance contests in New York City, Las Vegas, Chicago, San Antonio, and Dallas.
