Lee Eddie Flemmings

Lee Eddie Flemmings of Corpus Christi, Texas died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the age of eighty-three. He was born on March 1, 1934 in Wharton, Texas, to Charlie and Georgia Flemmings.
Deacon Flemmings married Wilda Mary Mazone Flemmings on August 21, 1971. They have one son, Aaron LeCharles Flemmings of Corpus Christi, Texas; and four step-daughters, Cherrie Thomas, Patricia Harper, Cynthia Bailey, and Tammy Boson.
Deacon Flemmings’ parents moved to Corpus Christi, Texas when he was a young boy. He attended and graduated from Solomon B. Coles High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He completed two years of college at Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas.
Throughout his career, Deacon Flemmings was employed as an Insurance Salesman. He also worked for Lichensteins Department Store, Walgreens, American Smelton Refinery, and later retired from Reynolds Metals after over twenty years of employment.
Deacon Flemmings gave his life to Christ at the age of twelve. He was a member of St. John Baptist Church, and a good and faithful Christian servant throughout his life. He served in several ministries at St. John. Deacon Flemmings served in the Youth and Fellowship Choirs and the Men’s Chorus. He served as Financial Officer, Church Treasurer, and Chairman of the Building Fund. He was a Deacon, a Trustee and part of the Baptist Men. He also served as an Associate Director and Teacher of Youth Bible School, and with the Church Training Union and Northside Ministry.
Preceding Deacon Flemmings in death are his parents, Charlie and Georgia Flemmings, two brothers and four sisters, Charlie Flemmings, Willie B. Flemmings, Marie Flemmings, Ceola Punchard, Mollie Adams, and Bozie M. Walker, and his step-daughter, Tammy Boson.
Deacon Flemmings leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Aaron LeCharles Flemmings, three step-daughters, Cherrie Thomas (Milton) of Palmetto, Louisiana; Patricia Harper (Terry) of Austin, Texas; Cynthia Bailey (Reginald) of Houston, Texas; and one sister, Mamie Hayes of Wharton, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. John Baptist Church.
Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
