Lilia G. Lester

Arlington, TX - Lilia (Lilly) Lester, loving daughter of Adolfo and Elisa Garcia was born in Laredo, Texas on April 6, 1926.

She is preceded in death by her husband Otis Lester and four siblings Bob Garcia, Adelfa Garcia, Carmen Garcia, and Elisa Pons. Lilly was the product of a very close and caring family. She is the matriarch of three daughters Cindy Gutierrez, Norma Garcia, and Cathy Long.

She also had seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren for whom she beamed with pride over and often referred to as her treasures in life. She was generous with her kindness and support of her friends and coworkers. Some of these people were people she worked with for over twenty five years at Doctors Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX. She was a cook and server for all those years getting up at five a.m. everyday to do a great job for her community.

Lilly’s faith grounded and guided her throughout her time here. Our Lord will know that about her. With an eighth grade education she acquired ten rental properties together with her best friend and sister, Adelfa. No matter though, her greatest passion and joy came from simple entrepreneurship of buying and selling all sorts of items she and Adelfa could capitalize on. They were a great team.

We will sorely miss the laughter and joy she brought and will be forever grateful to the lessons she left us with. 

Visitation will be from 8-10 am  Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel and a Rosary will be recited at 10 am that same day.  Entombment to follow at Memory Gardens.
