Lois Jean Yates

December 6, 1940 ~ April 10, 2018 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Obituary

Lois Jean Yates, age 77, is now safe in the arms of our Lord and Savior. She passed away April 10, 2018 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on December 6, 1940 to Herbert and Edna Dillman in Corpus Christi, Texas. She graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1959.
Lois married her husband, Donald, of 58 wonderful years on March 18, 1960.
In the years prior to her illness, she was a long time employee of Lacks Furniture and her most recent employment was with First Community Bank.
Lois was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great- grandmother.
Lois enjoyed fishing, going to the golf course and travelling with her best friend (her husband). She will always be remembered for her love of laughter and devotion to her family.
Lois loved the Lord first. Second, she loved her husband, Donald, with her whole heart. They are the definition of what marriage means. Third, her daughters and grandchildren, they were her pride and joy.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Edna Dillman and brother, Kenneth Dillman. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Donald Yates, daughters, Terri Burkhart (Brent) and Vicki (Bob Hoelscher), two sisters, Loretta Spires (Tom) and Shirley Mann (James), seven grandchildren: Chad Burkhart (Lara), Courtney Ryan (Chris), Audrey Bode (Matt), Logan Crisp (Kathy), Lacey Moore (Donnie), Cameron Crisp (Maegen) and Lauren Barker, ten great- grandchildren: Taylor, Austin, Elizabeth, Kaydance, Gweneth, Evan, Riley, Lane, Aiden and Emmie, seven nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
