Obituary

Manuela Guerra Ciochetto, age 90, passed away on November 9, 2018. Manuela was born on March 7, 1928 to Salvador Jalifi and Francisca Guerra. She went to London School until the sixth grade, then picked cotton and lemons as a migrant worker for her family.

Manuela who went by “Mela” to her friends was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and seamstress to so many.

Manuela will always be remembered for her love of sewing for her family and others. She was devoted to her family. She loved watching her many birds outside her window. In her younger years she liked gardening and walking. Mela traveled to many military bases with her husband and six children.

Manuela is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Miguel and her beloved sister, Maria. She is also preceded in death by her three sons: Nicholas, Lewis and Anthony Ciochetto. Left to cherish her memories are her loving husband, James, daughters: Wanda Ciochetto, Victoria Ciochetto (Tom) and Belinda Carter (Alan), grandchildren: Bill Selk (Lisa), Jenn Fink, George Seto, Jr. (Ronda), Sonya Seto (Sam), Barzan Hosseini, Connie Hosseini, Shayda Hosseini, Schwan Hosseini , Matt and Megan Carter, Adam Ciochetto (Suzanne), Andrew Ciochetto, Anthony Ciochetto (Jessica) as well as seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, her nieces that she loved dearly: Esther Rocha (Gilbert), Grace Sedillo (Manuel), and Elida Reyes (Rey).

Manuela, mom, grandma… leaves a legacy of love to her family and will forever be in our hearts.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. that same day. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
