Marcheta Lavern Limerick

Marcheta LaVerne Thompson Limerick passed away at her home on July 17, 2018 at the age of 89 years old. Marcheta was born on March 7, 1929 to Icel and Burl Thompson in Brownwood, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Limerick whom she married January 5, 1948 upon graduating from Corpus Christi High School in 1946.
After her marriage, she worked with the family business, Limerick Food Stores. She and George were very active in the Retail Grocers Association until the late 1950’s. She was with the HEB Grocery Company for many years as a Cashier Instructor and Supervisor. Upon moving to the Waco area she and George became owners and counselors of the Diet Center in Waco, Texas. After retirement, she and George joined their son and daughter-in-law at Janet’s Cakery.
Marcheta is survived by her daughter, Johnnia L. Potter (Loyd) Conroe, Texas and son Patrick E. Limerick (Janet) Corpus Christi, Texas, Grandchildren: Michael W. Potter (Jalene), Shannon Limerick, Bonnie Wise (Joe), Cody Limerick, Clayton Limerick (Megan), and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 30th from 7 to 9 PM at Seaside Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 31st at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel at 10 AM with burial to follow at 11:30 AM at Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers are John Limerick, Shannon Limerick, Cody Limerick, Clayton Limerick, Patrick Limerick and Loyd Potter.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to your local animal shelter.
A reception will follow the funeral services at Party Ventures, 1255 Nile Dr., Corpus Christi, Texas.
