Maria De Jesus Figueroa Arroyo

Maria De Jesus Figueroa-Arroyo age 80, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on February 10, 2021. She was born on January 16, 1941 to Micaela Figueroa-Zuniga and Fernando Araiza-Hernandez in Guadalajara, Jalisco México.  She spent most of her years in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Maria married her husband, Francisco Javier Arroyo of 48 years on December 22, 1972. She was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother.

  Maria was a devoted Catholic who enjoyed her parakeets, tending to her flowers/lawn, and enjoyed her neighborhood walks. She will always be remembered for her great faith in God, her love of music, dancing, and devotion to family. 

  Although Maria was short of stature, this did not compare to the size of her big heart. Maria was always willing to provide food, company, and long conversations of advice to those who needed it the most.  Maria especially enjoyed her family get-togethers at her house with her personal Mariachis present to celebrate the moment.

  Maria is preceded in death by her Mother, Micaela Figueroa-Zuniga, her Father, Fernando Araiza-Hernandez and Her “Mama Geronima”.
 
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Javier (Adriana) Arroyo, Laura (Aurelio, Jr.) Gallegos, Daniel (Veronica) Arroyo, Jose (Stephanie) Arroyo, Steven (Linda) Arroyo, Irene (Richard) Trela, and Diego (Stephanie) Arroyo, her aunt, Irene Araiza-Guzman; her half-brother, Jose Araiza; and Seventeen Grandchildren.

  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
