Maria Elba Caballero

Maria Elba Caballero, age 63, passed away November 8, 2023. She was born on September 28, 1960 to Jose T. Martinez and Maria Concepcion Martinez in Brownsville, Texas. She was raised in Brownsville and graduated from Kansas State University in 1990 with a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture and a Minor in Urban Development.

Maria Elba married her husband, Daniel Erling Caballero of 20 years in July 2003 and she will always be remembered for her love of nature (her garden and her flowers), her work as an accomplished Architect and Landscaper, and her care and devotion to family and friends.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Daniel Caballero; her son, Odon Villazana III (Valerie Nicole); her sisters, Sarita Lucia Wilcox (Danny) and Alexis, Nicolette and Trystin, and Maria Christina Moreno (Jorge) and Isabella, Lily and Sofia; and her brother, Jorge A. Martinez (Leticia) and Jorge Jr., and Joel.

Visitation will be held from 12-2:15pm on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with Interment to immediately follow at 2:30pm at Seaside Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Jorge A. Martinez, Jorge Martinez, Jr., Joel Martinez, Jr., Bobby Dan Wilcox, Jorge Moreno, Odon Villazana III.
