Maria Valdez Dimas, age 69, was rejoicefully welcomed into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on February 24, 2018. She was born on May 1, 1948 to Leonardo and Enedina Valdez in Bishop, Texas. She was raised in Corpus Christi and Baptized at Holy Family Catholic Church. She graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1967.
Maria married the love of her life, Johnny, August 28, 1971; they were married for forty seven wonderful years. She was employed by Spohn Hospital as a Nurse. For twenty five years Maria brought healing to every patient she touched including the care of her mother Enedina. Maria was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Maria enjoyed participating in her children’s school activities. Maria also enjoyed hosting many family gatherings showing her love through her passion of cooking. She will always be remembered for her faith and the love she had for her parish Christ the King.
Maria Valdez Dimas is preceded in death by her mother, Enedina T. Valdez and Nicholas E. Valdez. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Juan Jose Dimas, sons, Michael John Dimas and Joseph John Dimas and her daughter, Stephanie Marie Dimas, brothers, Juan A. Valdez, Albert Valdez, Rudy Valdez and Leonardo Valdez, Jr., sisters, Ann Valdez, Viola Flores and Stephanie Leal and many nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m. today, Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 2, 2018 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to be pallbearers are: John A. Valdez, Ruben Garcia, Bryan Leal, Joshua Leal, Andrew Dimas and John David Valdez.
