Dr. Morales and I taught together for many years at Texas A&M-Kingsville. The bilingual education pioneer not only taught foreign language-English theory and instructional methods to thousands of young teachers but also provided personal and academic counseling to those with problems. I recall her students frequently lining up outside her office seeking assistance. Her compassion was abundant, and her enthusiasm boundless. Maria your legacy is enviable.
