Obituary

Marjorie Sayler Bailey, 98, passed away quietly in her sleep on December 8, 2022. She was born March 18, 1924 to Delmer and Louise Sayler in Spokane, Washington. She was raised in Spokane with her three brothers, Howard (Jane), Robert (Lucy), and Donald (Joan). When the war (WWII) came she worked at the Spokane Army Depot. In 1945 she met Captain Warren S. Bailey who had just returned from overseas. He was a test pilot with the 84th Depot Repair Squadron. They married on September 28, 1945 and moved to Houston, Texas and in April 1946 they moved to Corpus Christi. They had three children, Warren Sanderson III (Sandra), Martha Hanson Greer (Eddie), and Kirk Donald (Sandra). Her grandchildren are Sheri Lawson (Mark), Ryan Bailey (Pamela), Robert Bailey (Kathy), Lauren Bailey (Ben Kay), and James Bailey (Rose). She had great grandchildren Andrew Dyer (Kylie), Emma Moore (Dustin), Kelby Lawson, Allison Frerich (Tristan), Conner Bailey and Isabella Garcia. She also was blessed with great great grandchildren; Greyton, Creed, Cannon, Cayden.
Marjorie was a Job’s Daughter, Campfire Girl Leader, and a charter member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church Corpus Christi. She was a volunteer at St. Luke’s helping out wherever needed from teaching Sunday School, working the reception desk, or manning and suppling the food pantry.
Marjorie loved sports. She swam and played softball when young, she bowled and loved to golf. In 2016, she was the Corpus Christi Senior Women’s Golf Champion. When Warren retired, they bought a motor home and travelled the United States and Canada. For years they attended Astros baseball spring training in Kissimmee, Florida and the NCAA College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
She is grateful for the love of her children and their families, for the fellowship of her church and gives God praise and gratitude for having a wonderful, healthy and fulfilled life.
She is now with her loving husband, Warren, who passed away October 25, 2007 after 62 years of marriage. And with her daughter, Martha, who passed on April 29, 2016.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Trinity Towers for the care and love they showered on Mamaw.
