Obituary

Corpus Christi - On January 15, 2021, Marsha Nolen Robertson passed with her two daughters, Leah and Lauren, by her side. Marsha Nolen was born on March 22, 1956 to loving and supportive parents, Veryln Avery and Wanda Lee (Lankford) Nolen. Born and raised in Corpus Christi alongside her older brothers Ray and Mark, she attended Montclair Elementary, Cullen Middle School and King High School. She excelled in academics and was recognized for her intellect and kind spirit. Marsha was an active member with her family at the First Christian Church, growing in her faith with the community there as well as Young Life and many summers as a camper and then counselor at Laity Lodge.

Marsha attended Texas Christian University, graduating with a degree in Business Administration in 1978. She was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority, where she built deep friendships and engaged in philanthropic work. She later received her Master's in Psychology, earning licenses as a Psychological Associate, Professional Counselor, and Specialist in School Psychology. In her early career, she worked at several agencies for individuals with mental and physical disabilities and most recently has worked almost fifteen years for Dr. Alan Fisher's office.

Marsha was a member of the Esperanza Garden Club, Cotillion III and the Order of De Pineda where she served over the years as Treasurer, First Vice President and President. She was a devoted member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, and greatly loved her experiences as a Godly Play teacher and member of the Women of the Church, Altar Guild and the Handbell Choir.

Marsha will be remembered for her thoughtful nature, her strong, steady faith in God, and her love for her two daughters, Leah Rochelle Robertson and Lauren Robertson Ridings, her two granddaughters, Ruby Lee Ridings and Josephine Austin Ridings, and son in law, Blake Austin Ridings.

Marsha is preceded in death by her parents Verlyn Avery Nolen and Wanda Lankford Nolen. In addition to the immediate family, she is survived by her brothers Ray (Anne) Nolen and Mark Nolen as well as many extended family and close lifelong friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2pm at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 700 South Upper Broadway, Corpus Christi, TX, 78401 . It will also be available through livestream by a link on the church website.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
